Dubai is all about money, the hotels are ultra expensive and the shops on the malls are all designer.
Despite using cheap migrant labour the Burj Khalifa cost $1.5 billion ( although a lot of the money came from a loan by Abu Dhabi).
You wont even find a cheap coffee but for a short time its great to see the fabulous beaches.
Then you need to go back quickly to the air conditioned malls to daydream about outrageously expensive handbags and shoes.
The Beach
Perfect sand and free public wi-fi!
Amazing Hotels
The Atlantis Palm , one of the most famous hotels in the world with aquariums and water parks.
Doesn’t really appeal. I think the Burj al Arab hotel looks much better but unfortunately the cheapest price for one night is £2,359.
Nice idea though!
The Burj Khalifa
Every good tourist has to go to the highest point of their destination.
We always climb up the hill with the best viewpoint or the many steps up to various attractions but the Burj beats them all.
Its the worlds tallest building. Luckily there’s a lift! It takes one minute to reach the observation deck in the fast lift.
My favourite useless fact – It takes 36 window cleaners 3 – 4 months to clean the windows, all 24,348 of them.
Spending Money (or not!) At The Dubai Mall
The Dubai Mall is the worlds most visited shopping destination
It has beautiful window displays and an aquarium, luckily it doesn’t really matter if you don’t buy anything from the very expensive shops.
There is enough entertainment just walking round and looking.
