A walk along the Arabian sea coast in Mumbai takes you from the slum of Colaba past Nariman Point business area and the whole length of Marine Drive to Chowpatty beach at the far end.
Colaba Slum
Romance and a View
Young boys sell individual red roses to couples sitting on the sea wall.
Here the expensive houses on Malabar Hill overlook the beach and what is called the queens necklace. This is the curve of twinkling lights all along Marine Parade as darkness falls.
The beach is not very clean and the water is polluted but it is very popular. Indians don’t seem to take their clothes off as soon as they see water like westerners do!
