Tel Aviv feels different from the rest of Israel it has a Mediterranean coastline and a European feeling.
Its a cosmopolitan lively city with beaches, great shops- the fashion is especially classy, at least for the elderly, disregard this if you’re under fifty!- and good restaurants and cafes.
Its possible to walk from the modern port either through the city or along to the beach all the way to the old city of Jaffa.
It will take you a while but there’s plenty to see on the way.
Walk down past the marina and along the Promenade down to Charles Clore Park,
the locals like to picnic here at lunch time.
A little further and you’ll be in Old Jaffa.
