There are not many to places to go nowadays but Wales is a possibility. Now Covid restrictions being eased a little Welsh tourism is opening up under the banner “We’re good to go”
The Lakes and Countryside of Myanmar
The Burmese people were so friendly and willing to explain their culture to us. I wonder if this has changed now they have had so much more exposure to tourists.
Exotic Mandalay and Pagoda Valley
From Yangon we flew to Bagan, an ancient city in the Mandalay region. From the 9th to the 13th century it was the capital of the Pagan kingdom. Now tourists visit to view the pagodas.
Memories of Myanmar
Myanmar, or Burma, as it used to be called was top of my wish list for years. So when Aung San Suu Kyi said tourists could visit as long as we tried to spend money with the locals, not the government, we booked to go.
The fabulous Greek Islands
Greece has 6,ooo islands but only 227 of them are inhabited. We did a day trip to the three little islands of Aegina, Poros and Hydros on a Saronic islands tour from Pireaus.
Aegina
These islands are everything you expect from a Greek island but they are tiny.
More of Greece, Ancient and Modern
There is so much to see as you travel round Greece.
Greece, Food and Culture

Mexico’s Mayan Sites
For us Mexico wasn’t all tequila and spicy food. We made it to several of the most famous ancient Mayan sites.
Lots of Fun in Mexico
Mexico , even if you were allowed to go at the moment, is still closed to all tourists.
But a few years ago we had a great holiday there.
