Tenerife means white mountain, named after the huge Pico de Teide. Despite two visits to the island we haven’t been to the top.
First wind and then cloud stopped us getting further than the visitor centre.

Fuerteventura Highlights
For our day on Fuerteventura we took the easy way out and went on one of the ships tours. It was called Fuerteventura Highlights. Overpriced as usual but an easy way to see things when you don’t have a particular must see.
Looking Round Lanzarote – a Visit to Timanfaya
Entering Timanfaya National Park is like entering a strange alien world. We got a bus trip that took us up the winding roads of the park stopping at El Diablo restaurant.
La Palma, La Isla Bonita
La Palma is one of the worlds most mountainous islands. It has the highest rainfall of all the Canary islands so they can grow avocados, bananas and tobacco. Most of the population are involved in agriculture but there are plenty of taxis willing to take you round the island.

The Canaries are in the Atlantic, only a couple of hundred miles from Morocco. There are seven main islands and its surprising how different they are from each other.
